Progressive and modern schools need well-trained teachers to cater to the needs of the modern learner.

Sharing and training of best practices, providing quality support and monitoring for effectiveness are key factors in the Ambassador Education CPD programme.

The teachers are trained rigorously for some of the following;

Curriculum Design
Experts from the field of education have trained the teachers to design and curriculum that is relevant to the learner today. This is a regularly updated document that keeps in mind the individuality of the learner so that we can cater to the needs of the each of our students.

Assessments
The pattern of assessment is vast and definitive. The teachers are trained to understand how student assessment plays a vital role in gauging the start points of students and how they have progressed in their academic session.

Behaviour Policy
A comprehensive document that has assisted all staff to further understand how to deal with behaviour issues. A step-by-step procedure leading to consequences that are commensurate with the offences are well expounded. Cyber-bullying and classroom bullying are important sub-topics of this session.

Child Protection Policy
Staff are made well aware of the universal policy relating to children and how to deal with situations appropriately in cases of students needing protection.

Talk for Learning
Professional conduct. Friendly approach. Support learning through speaking appropriately to students while interacting in a classroom set up is what this CPD is about. Staff members understand what standards and quality of professionalism is expected of them while engaging Ambassador parents and students.

Questioning Skills
The most precious skill a teacher can possess is the crux of this training. Students know it all, the teacher needs to question correctly to elicit the desired response. This fact is reiterated in the session. Students at Ambassador are no longer empty vessels waiting to be filled in with knowledge from the teachers. They are in fact, vibrant and sharp minds that need challenge through open-ended questions, HOTS questions, Critical Thinking questions and so on.

Understanding Data
The pivot of assessment and progress is to understand and interpret what data can tell us. This CPD is especially focussing on the progress of the students and the evaluation of the staff’s approach to setting targets and achieving the high standards set by the SAS Team.

Experiential Learning
One of the many ways in which students learn is explored in this CPD. Creating the right environment for learning through experiences is the agenda of this session. Creating the learning environment as per the students’ needs is a key aspect of the SAS teaching fraternity.

10 Point Progress / Classroom Talk
How can I know if my students are making progress in my lessons? This all-important question is answered in this CPD. Monitoring student progress and therefore the school progress is the agenda for this CPD. Effective ways of planning for Classroom Talk are also shared with the staff.

IST (Individual Student Tracking)
Has every student understood what the teacher set out to teach? This is answered at the end of this CPD which gives a clear idea to staff that every student’s understanding is important to us. Through the IST, we can decide which children need additional help in certain areas.

There is a broader range of CPDs that are planned as per the need arising out of school interactions in various departments and teachers thus the planning for CPDs is ongoing and dynamic. In-house experts or outsourced agencies are involved in the CPD programme at all Ambassador Schools, leaving no stone unturned in order to provide the best facilitators for our students.
